UN Human Rights Council holds its Annual full-day meeting on the rights of the child

On March 10th, 2010 the Human Rights Council (HRC) held its second Annual full-day meeting on the Rights of the Child which was devoted to the Fight against sexual violence against children.

ECPAT-USA releases a guide on Protecting Children From Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Violence in Disaster and Emergency Situations

I thought this was especially relevent due to the recent disaster in Haiti.

RCMP rescues suspected victims of child porn ring

A recent article in the Vancouver Sun explains how six young Surrey children were among seven Canadian kids rescued by police this week as suspected victims of an international child pornography ring.



The police were alerted to the situation from an international source that linked the image exchange to a British Columbian home.



This article is a great example of how people are working across borders to stop this awlful situation from occuring.

Hey! Thanks Elise!! I'm from Peru, I'm a teacher and I am doing a research, i mean my thesis about play and children's participation. I'm working with little kids at a poor urban comunity in Lima and i'm trying to figure out how they get to involve with their own neighborhood playing free and espontaneous (i'm not so good at english)... If you can help me, if you know about researches about this.. it will be a lot of help! Thanks for your note and sorry about the delay in replying. I was in Rwanda helping to coordinate and facilitate the UNESCO Chair International Leadership Training Programme: A Global Intergenerational Forum. Fantastic, intense and powerful experience.
