International Training Program on Child Rights, Classroom and School Management

Hello everybody

The new training programm on Child Rights, Classroom and School Management consists of five phases, one preparatory phase at home, second in Sweden, third at home working, fourth the regional seminar and fifth is the mentors visit and final report. The second phase of the programme will take place in Lund from May 10 to June 2, 2010 so we have added three days to this part. The fourth phase will take place in Uganda, October/November, 2010.

The target group is still the same: Preferably a team consisting of 3 people from each country representing the three levels:
– At school level: headmasters, inspectors and educational advisers who are working with the development of methodology and management at school and classroom level in a number of schools;
– At intermediate level: officers and trainers responsible for educational activities at district or province level;
– At central level: teacher trainers, headmaster trainers, staff at institutes working with educational development and at Ministries of Education.

The list of countries that are invited to apply has changed and thus some countries are not a part of the new programme and we also have some new ones to welcome. The following countries are invited:

- Africa: Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia, Liberia, Mali, Malawi, Namibia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia

- Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam

- Latin America: Bolivia and Colombia

It is also possible to apply on-line at www.education.lu.se/sida/child for the programme. All applicants still have to send the signed application form to the nearest Swedish embassy.

Closing date for applications is February 1, 2010.

hi Camilo, this training programm on Child Rights, Classroom and School Management, seems really interesting for us at Colsubsidio, as you know we have a really huge education net, from pre-school to secodary schools... I am interested in to a learn a little more about this and to see if its possible for us to participate on it, for example Dr Magola Delgado who is the Chief of this big net ( I would like that you and Ernesto Durán met her).

Warm reggards, María Lucía
Hi María Lu ..You are right, this program is very relevant for the Colsubsidio Staff.
I participated on this training program on 2006 and it´s very, very intersting specailly when you have the opportunitty to campare two educational context (swidish and african or asina countriers)....just tell us when is a good date for the meeting with Dr Delgado, and sure ERnesto and I will be there.
Finally if you need any aditional info about the program, just let me know. It will be a plesure to meet you again

All the best for You, camilo
Dear Sir/madam
Thank you very much for offering wonderful training. The content of the training program is very potential. I am sorry that my country is not member of invitees this year, is there then a chance for me to apply even though my country is not member of invitees?
Is there other trainings related to child protection and child rights.

Best regards from Ismail
Dear Isamil...thanks for your message, As you, I am sorry that your country is not the invited countries list. I think that the reason why Lund University stablished this list is becouse Swedish International Development Agency - SIDA has modificated its guidelines about international cooperation and decided to focus on some specific countries, Anyway I suggest to you writting to Richard Steneleo (diercto program) and ask him if there is possible to present candidate coming from other countries.
A key factor that make more possible being elected is to present a Whole team (3 candidates with the profile required). I participated in this program on 2006 and I have to tell you that was an amazing experience for me
If I know something else sure I will post it
Best Regards
Camilo
